Famous Japanese green tea, made from pulverised Gyokuro leaves. It originates from Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Matcha is a special green tea: steamed, without the central vein of the leaf, after drying it is pulverised using stone grinders. Matcha Asahi has a shading period of 20 to 25 days. Being in powder form, it is drunk without waste,
thus taking on all the properties of the leaf. Ian Marber, a well-known British nutritionist, told the Telegraph that 'Matcha contains 137 times the antioxidant content of normal green tea. It contains a high quantity of polyphenols and amino acids, such as l-theanine, which helps reduce physical and psychological stress. It is also rich in
vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and theine: it is a true elixir of well-being and energy.
