Description Japan Benifuki BIO Black Tea

A real rarity from Japan. Black tea production, in fact, accounts for only less than 1 percent of total production in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Benifuki cultivar, created back in 1965 in the city of Makurazaki, Kagoshima Prefecture, is the result of crossing two cultivars with different characteristics: the Benihomare, an assamic variety found more in India and Ceylon, and the MakuraCd86, a sinensis variety more popular in China and Japan. The presence of the assamic variety allows for leaves that are particularly suitable for processing as black tea.

Ingredients Japan Benifuki BIO Black Tea

Benifuki black tea possesses a unique aromatic complexity in the cup: its balanced flavor imparts notes of hazelnut and honey to the palate. It has a pleasant astringency due to the high presence of catechins. The leaf is flat to rolled, black in color and rough in appearance. *organic IT BIO 013
